Rank the Coast (“the App”) is an unofficial fan / event web app provided for entertainment in connection with a Not Your Normal Guy gathering. By using the App you agree to these Terms.
1. Unofficial status
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cedar Point, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, any ride manufacturer, or any park operator. Cedar Point, Six Flags, and individual ride names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only for identification.
“Not Your Normal Guy” branding appears with permission of the content creator for this event.
2. Entertainment only
Rankings, crowd scores, contest results, and series totals are for fun. They are not professional advice, official park rankings, or a wagering product. Unless the host separately announces otherwise in writing, there is no cash prize and participation is for bragging rights only.
3. Acceptable use
- Don’t abuse, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the App or its database.
- Don’t impersonate others or submit rankings intended solely to sabotage scoring.
- Contestant seats are invite-only; don’t share invite links beyond the intended guest.
- One ranking submission per browser is enforced on an honor / device basis and is not perfect.
4. Host control
The event host may start or end rounds, end or reopen the contest, regenerate invites, change names, and reset or delete all shared data at any time. Host decisions on scoring disputes, eligibility, and technical glitches are final.
5. Availability & data
The App is provided “as is.” Service may be interrupted, buggy, or wiped. We do not guarantee that submissions, picks, or scores will be preserved.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators of the App are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, scores, prizes (if any), or goodwill arising from your use of the App—including downtime, reset, mis-scored rounds, seat takeovers, or disputes between participants.
7. Changes
These Terms may be updated in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
8. Contact
Questions about these Terms: contact the event host (the person who shared this App with you).

This Privacy notice explains what Rank the Coast collects for a short-lived event contest. It is written in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
- Optional display name you enter with a ranking (or “Anonymous”).
- Your ride ranking and a timestamp when you submit.
- Contest data if you are a seated contestant: seat role, device id used for seat ownership, ride picks per round, and related round metadata.
- Technical session data from Firebase Anonymous Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database needed to run the App.
- Browser storage on your device (for example: whether you already submitted, invite seat session, results unlock for this tab, synced event id).
What we don’t intentionally collect
- Email, phone, payment info, or precise GPS.
- Advertising profiles or third-party ad trackers beyond what Firebase / your browser may do by default for the service itself.
Why we collect it
To run crowd scoring, the live contest, invite seats, and host controls for this event.
Where it’s stored
Shared contest and ranking data is stored in Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Authentication) for the project that hosts this App. Device-local keys stay on your browser.
Retention
Data generally remains until the host uses Reset everything, ends the event, or otherwise deletes the Firebase project data. Local browser keys remain until you clear site data or a reset rotates the event id.
Sharing
Crowd rankings and contest scores are visible to other guests of the App as designed. We do not sell your data. Infrastructure providers (Google Firebase) process data to provide hosting and database services under their terms.
Children
The App is intended for a general audience at a private event and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact the event host to request deletion.
Your choices
- Submit as “Anonymous” (leave the name blank).
- Leave a contest seat from the contestant screen.
- Ask the event host to reset or delete shared event data.
- Clear this site’s data in your browser to remove local locks/sessions.
Contact
Privacy requests (access / deletion): contact the event host.

These Contest Rules govern the Rank the Coast live contest. The host may clarify edge cases on the spot; host decisions are final.
1. Eligibility
- Crowd rankings: open to guests using the public Rank tab (one submission per browser, honor system).
- Contest seats: only the two people given private invite links (Contestant 1 and Contestant 2).
- Opening an invite link on another device may take over that seat.
2. How ranking submissions work
- Order all listed rides best to worst (top of the list = favorite).
- Favorite earns the most points; last place earns 1 point. Crowd averages use those points.
- When the host ends the contest, new ranking submissions close.
3. How contest rounds work
- Rounds have a set duration. Contestants (or the host) start rounds as the App allows.
- Mark each ride you take that round. Once either contestant locks a ride, it’s off the board for the other.
- Scores stay hidden until the round ends (timer, mutual early end within 60 seconds, or host ending the contest).
- Round score = sum of current crowd averages for rides you marked. Series = sum of completed rounds.
4. Fair play
- Don’t mark rides you didn’t take.
- Don’t steal or spam the other person’s invite to grief the seat.
- Don’t manipulate crowd rankings solely to swing contest math in bad faith.
5. Prizes
Unless the host announces otherwise in writing before play, this contest is for entertainment and bragging rights only—no guaranteed cash or merchandise prize from the App itself.
6. Technical issues
Networks fail, phones die, and bugs happen. The host may adjust, void, restart, reopen, or reset as needed. No make-goods are owed for lost submissions or interrupted rounds.
7. Ending & reset
- End contest freezes the live contest and unlocks crowd rankings for everyone.
- Reopen contest may be used if End was pressed by mistake.
- Reset everything permanently wipes rankings and contest history for a new event.
